Job Description:

We're looking for a Finance Supervisor, Inventory to oversee and the accuracy and integrity of TJX Canada's stock ledger while guiding a team of Analysts. In this role, you'll collaborate with Finance, Planning, Logistics, and other partners to optimize processes, strengthen controls, and serve as the subject matter expert for inventory accounting. What You'll Do:

  • Supervises and provides day-to-day direction on the team activities of Jr. Analysts and Financial Analysts, ensuring the accuracy of transactions in the stock ledger and overall alignment with business practices.

  • Collaborates with Finance and other business partners (Planning, DC, Logistics etc.) to ensure the quality of stock ledger data across multiple applications.

  • Oversees and provides sign-off on all reconciliations for the stock ledger.

  • Partners on optimization and efficiency initiatives to ensure the accuracy and controls of financial inputs to the stock ledger; continuously optimizes processes for reporting and analytics of inventory data.

  • Acts as the primary point-of-contact and subject matter expert on the stock ledger on behalf of the finance function; collaborates with leadership to implement training that improved organizational understanding of stock ledger data.

  • Sets goals, expectations, and conducts performance reviews, ensures customized development plans for team members.

  • Provides advice, coaching and guidance to team on day-to-day activities.

About You:

  • A post-secondary education in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, Business or Commerce streams.

  • Actively working towards an accounting designation (i.e. CPA); a fully designated CPA is considered an asset.

  • A minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in a Finance capacity with exposure to GAAP and inventory accounting.

  • A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years in a supervisory/managerial capacity; leading others through work.

  • Ability to apply strong knowledge of GAAP, including retail accounting, supply chain systems and processes to develop and lead tactical initiatives.

  • Leadership skills including: coaching, providing guidance and feedback to associates in the resolution of problems, performance evaluation.

  • Excellent computer skills; including word processing, email, spreadsheets (i.e. Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel), mainframe applications (i.e. IMSP, SCAN, CICS), databases (i.e. TM1, Approach); skills using data manipulation and visualization tools (Monarch, Alteryx, Power BI) are considered an asset.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including facilitation, information gathering, accurate identification, and explanation of problems.

  • Strong time management, organization, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
