Starting Wage:

$16.70 - $23.75

  • Monthly production bonus of up to $1.00/hour worked.
  • Monthly attendance bonus of up to $1.00/hour worked.
  • Further increases as per Collective Agreement.
The Opportunity:

We are currently hiring for a variety of full-time Production and Sanitation Worker position at our Brandon plant, located at 6355 Richmond Avenue East. Positions are available in a variety of departments including cut, kill, packaging, shipping and sanitation. Placement will depend on physical capabilities as determined by our Health & Safety Team.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:PRODUCTION WORKER:
  • Participate as part of a team in order to successfully process hogs to produce fresh and frozen product.
  • Assist with various tasks in the department assigned.
  • Working to maintain line speeds in a fast-paced environment.
  • Most positions in the Barn, Dressing, Cut and Packaging floors include assembly line work.
  • Knife work and other equipment use may be required.
  • Must adhere to all hygienic and food safety requirements in the plant.

SANITATION WORKER:
  • Participate as part of a team to carry out sanitation procedures and ensure cleanliness for all areas of production.
  • Assist with various tasks in the department assigned.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working with high pressure washing and sanitizing equipment.
  • Scissor lift operator and Jitney operator
  • Must adhere to all hygienic and food safety requirements in the plant.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Previous industrial/manufacturing/production experience in a fast-paced environment considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing and/or meat processing considered an asset.
  • Ability to work in a wide range of environmental conditions from cool to warm/wet to dry.
  • Physically fit and able to lift, push, and/or pull, weight of up to 27kg (60 lbs.)
  • Experience working with and committed to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is considered an asset.
  • Must be committed to safe work practices.
  • Must have good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills and be focused on continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable being part of a multi-cultural, unionized environment.
  • Ensure safe and hygienic practices are applied to all tasks performed as per Company policies.
