GFL Environmental is looking for a Laborer to join our team in Victoria, British Columbia!

GFL Environmental is seeking a Laborer to join our team at the Victoria Transfer Station. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a dynamic outdoor environment and are committed to safety, teamwork, and efficiency.

Schedule:

Saturday- Wednesday / Friday - Tuesday

From 8:45 till 5:15

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manually separate and sort materials from mixed loads
  • Clean and maintain work areas and equipment
  • Direct traffic safely on-site as needed
  • Operate a front-end loader and excavator safely and efficiently (part-time operation)
  • Assist in load screening and spotting duties
  • Perform manual tasks such as lifting/moving materials (up to 65 lbs)
  • Follow all safety protocols and instructions with limited supervision
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 65 pounds regularly
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
  • Experience operating equipment such as loaders/excavators (an asset)
  • Forklift certification and first aid tickets are considered assets
  • Must meet safety-sensitive function criteria as per company standards
